Realizing those things were stupid so you donāt repeat them is the definition of getting wiser. I did some stuff (that will not get mentioned for fear of inspiring others) until it almost killed me then I stopped. Though now I realize I could have just started wearing a helmet. See, wiser.

I think once we do enough stupid things, the concept of āstupid thingsā changes to ānormal things,ā even if in the past they really were pretty stupid.
