My father “gave me an adventure” when I was 13. I went to work on a tobacco farm in North Carolina for the summer. Now THAT was “exposure to honest hard work in the real world”. It took another summer of it to convince me I would study hard and get an indoor job. :)
Returning from a family visit and many long hours and in the car with the often repeated question, “when will we be there” ? I answered, “ask that one more time and i will stop this car and spank you butt”, … silence … then my 6 year old Granddaughter asked " how old will be when we get there "? Now 25 years later her response revealed to me her future potential of which I am grateful.

It’s going to be a long trip – Eddie doesn’t live in the same world as you do.

Much depends on if this is the same world as the one that they started out from.

Can you get there from theah?

Just exactly what does Capt. Eddie smoke in his pipe?

This time he has witnesses, unless they were in the same room as Capt Eddie when he lit his bowl

When you take a journey on the Anoesis, you go places you don’t understand…
Did Eddie ever sail with Timothy Leary?

Did Cap’n Eddie take navigation lessons from Gilligan?

With Eddie it’s not the destination but the trip there that matters.

I want to hang out with Eddie.

Way to let the “bah-bon” do the navigating.

I need to update my navigational charts. Mine does not show the Bermuda Triangle extending to New England.

You made the classic mistake of believing that Eddie’s story were not real.

I heard in the last frame the sound effect of a raptor screeching. All in my head of course.

For some of us, getting lost is just a way of arriving at a place that we didn’t plan for but which turned out to be interesting.

The adventure begins. Kids will remember this one, when lots of other memories have faded.

That’s the trouble with most adventures. They all seem to be so far away from each other.

Never nap on a boat. Especially Eddie’s.

They aren’t in Kansas anymore, but I hope they don’t get attacked by Harpies

Getting bored is NOT a problem when on a trip with Capt. Eddie. ;-D

Cap’n Eddie was born too early in history—after all, nobody ever invented a compass or a sextant yet. WAIT a minute………

Is this the first time Captain Eddie has a witness for his story?

I hope they’ve been taking notes. It’ll be the first “how I spent my summer” essay to qualify as magical realism.
