Maybe sheâs upset just because Chase is such a bad match for Mark. (Okay, I know that isnât the reason, but would you want anyone you cared about to marry Chase?)
This hits pretty close to home. My godfather was a gay man. The first occasion he went anywhere in public with his long time partner was attending his motherâs funeral. He died yesterday. His two surviving sisters are not holding a funeral for him because they still donât accept that itâs okay to be gay. His friends are getting together a memorial service, none of his blood family will be there.
A little confused â the rev may need to talk thru those things with somebody. From Markâs point of view, no issue. Oh! Maybe the Rev needs Mark to walk him thru it.
You know. A fast thinking padre would zoom right over there and lend a hand. If he can talk her off the roof there might be a bite of the 75 mil for the church.
âMoral, legal, and theological ramificationsâ? Legal I can see, but moral and theological? Those would be about 49th and 99th on my list of things to think about, way below emotional, financial, logistical, geographical, and similar considerations about a wedding.
Ya know, IâM still looking for a logical explanation for WHY anyoneâs activities in the bedroom should be ANYBODYâS business other than the participantsâŠ
My granddad used to tell me that it went against âGodâ Willâ, but other than, âshut up, boyâ, he never had an answer when Iâd ask why God didnât fix the problem that heâd obviously createdâŠ
âŠAnd, just as an aside, homosexual behavior has been detected in many animal species, as well â it is NOT just a human aberrationâŠ
For a $75 million dollar inheritance I would have put off all of my prior hetero marriages until after I got the money. Living in sin and having kids would not have been that big a problem.
I havenât heard of anyone making a blood test part of the wedding procedure for a few generations (it used too be standard, children). Similarly, the state doesnât need to record the gender (or the ethnicity, or the weight, or the date of birth) of either or both of the parties for the contract to be legitimate.
