It would have been interesting to see how some of Schulz’s lesser-used characters would have reacted to the Great Pumpkin: Pig-Pen or Franklin, for instance…
One time, Sally joined Linus in waiting for the Great Pumpkin. He never showed up and she ended up missing out on all the Halloween fun. It got pretty ugly after that.
You know, we hear about young kids who do great things, raise money for a cause or start a company, but Linus is starting a movement, and this is pre-internet time. I can see him becoming President precisely at age 35. Unless, of course, he stages a movement to change the US Constitution letting 10 year olds be President.

He already took her into the pumpkin patch once. Shouldn’t he have paid the restitution he owed her by now?

He badgers her about The Great Pumpkin, she badgers him about being her Sweet Baboo. A fair trade, I’d say.

It’s best to drive those cultists out of the neighborhood right away, before they become a problem.
