That’s a cool geography lesson. But, like Liz’s previous sewing homework, it seems to rely heavily on the student having access to an excellent atlas (and a good sewing machine).
I’d like to see what her relief map of Greenland will be like. Without the glaciers covering most of it (especially its interior), it should look like it has a big depression or lake over most of the middle of it. [It looks kind of weird compared to how we usually see it on a map or globe.]
We had to do this in 8th grade. We got creative and the teacher got mad. LOL. It was a messy project and what I would now consider busywork for no real benefit.
My daughter had to make a Mercator projection of the world when she was in elementary school. It had to be out of some material other than pen and paper. Old-fashioned gingerbread (not the cake type) and blue icing did the trick; she rolled it out and spread it on our big cookie sheet. These days, modern geographers would prefer a view which shows the northern countries as their actual size.

We had to do that assignment. What a mess. I should have chosen Iceland, or another small country.

To pick a nit… under all that ice, the actual land of Greenland is several smaller islands.
