I was in a coffee shop, wearing my Santa hat and my white beard, which I grow longer starting at Thanksgiving. In the other line ws a young boy having a tantrum. I said, “Ho ho ho! Do I see a naughty little boy?” His eyes got big and he stopped misbehaving, hiding behind his mother’s leg. Later, after I was seated, she came by my table and whispered, “Thank you!”

JUNE?!?

Remember life is slow for a kid. The distance between June and December is enormous to them. They won’t worry about Santa seeing their bad behavior in June since they have plenty of time to be good in December.

It would not work in June, kids are not thinking about Santa then!

After kids outgrow Santa, use the threat of posting embarassing ba y pics on social media to keep them in line.

I remember being so scared by that “threat” that I could barely move, afraid of doing anything remotely “naughty”. I opted not to pull that crap on my kids.

Because in June they’d ignore it because they have half a year to be “good”.

What about what the parents think?

Nothing like a good old outright lie to stop bad behavior. How ironic.

That only works for a short time.

I doubt it would have much impact if you did. At their age Christmas is several lifetimes removed from June.

Santa and Christmas aren’t front and center in June – Ocrober. November starts a warming up.
