House fascists support Naziyahoo and enable Putin to destroy a struggling democracy. From HCR (October 30th 2023):
“ After three weeks without a speaker, the House today tackled one of the key items on its agenda: providing additional funding for Israel and Ukraine. Immediately, the majority under Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) made it clear that they have every intention of pushing their extremist agenda. Despite pressure from Republican Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), they have split funding for Israel away from the funding for Ukraine and funding for humanitarian assistance for Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza that President Biden has requested.”
BTW, as usual the House fascists take good care of the 1% as HCR lays out simply and understandably in the same column.
Israel provided warning and time for innocents to leave and told them to head south. Don’t recall anyone ever giving the innocents in Israel that option before they attack.
So knowing the bombs and rockets are coming, why do they stay?
It it a tactic of Hamas to purposely hide behind civilian women and children so that public opinion will go against the ones who are retaliating in self defense. Obviously, it is quite effective.
There is no nuance in the conversation. There is only “my side is right” and the other side is completely wrong. The cartoon depicts a reality. The safety of civilians should be paramount. But, it’s also true that Hamas launches 1000s of rockets at Israeli cities. Are they “less evil” because Israel has a better defense system? I’ve asked some of my left-leaning friends what would Hamas do if they had the access to Israel’s arsenal? I ask my right leaning friends why did Israel fund Hamas, to make a two-state solution less likely? How ‘bout a bit of introspection regarding "your side’s" role in the problem?
I am sickened by both side’s extremists who put politics and property over people.
What bothers me about the whole thing, is that the Jewish people have suffered so much in their history-there was far more than just the Holocaust.
Why are they now bringing the same pain that they suffered thru to the Palestinians?
There would be no Hamas if the Israelites had treated the Palestinians with more respect when they arrived, instead of starting idiotic holy wars.
The Israelites need to get their heads together and get over the childish biblical mythological nonsense. Grow up, people.
An interesting side note: After either WWI or WWII an American General (whose name I no longer remember) suggested that we should give the Isrealist Arizona in which to live. If we had listened to him trouble solved toot sweet.

On the Turning Away, by Pink Floyd:
On the turning away
From the pale and downtrodden
And the words they say
Which we won’t understand
Don’t accept that what’s happening
Is just a case of others’ suffering
Or you’ll find that you’re joining in
The turning away
It’s a sin that somehow
Light is changing to shadow
And casting its shroud
Over all we have known
Unaware how the ranks have grown
Driven on by a heart of stone
We could find that we’re all alone
In the dream of the proud
On the wings of the night
As the daytime is stirring
Where the speechless unite in a silent accord
Using words, you will find, are strange
Mesmerised as they light the flame
Feel the new wind of change
On the wings of the night
No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
No more turning away
From the coldness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It’s not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there’ll be
No more turning away?

Whether you’re shot by accident or shot on purpose the result is the same.

Apparently, there is no Hebrew term for “collateral damage.”

Interesting how the folks who claim “Biden will fight Russia down to the last Ukrainian”, don’t see Hamas is doing exactly that with Palestinians.

Does anyone know why Hamas would be stupid enough to start a war they cannot win? Do they hope the rest of the Arab community will come to their aid?

I don’t think that they want them to relax, they want them to turn on the individuals that caused this.
