We had a wren down our chimney about a year ago, and ever since then he comes up and visits me in the garden! It’s like he remembers that I helped him get out, he practically lands on me sometimes, and he brought his family to visit this summer. You never saw or heard anything more pitiable than a sooty wren stuck in a firebox with the glass doors shut.

Is that a second UFO with the original? Slow and subtle invasion.

Sterling must be ill – he’s playing quietly while a live meal is in the house…

Leave it that way, Mom. Save it for Dad when he comes home. He’ll love this one.

Didn’t anyone else notice the knobs on the kitchen cupboards? The attention to detail is just amazing!

I’m surprised there aren’t seagull tracks following Wallace’s.

There’s also a seagull in the house, but nobody seems concerned about that…

I love the footie prints going up the side of the wall, under the window.

Good heavens, I hope that’s some kind of water-soluble gouache in the tubes on the table.

Mom’s way more chill about the paint than mine would have been.

Don’t know about y’all, but I always keep a bird net handy. Just in case.
