….and the cat’s in the cradle, and the silver spoon. Little Boy Blue and Man in the Moon. When you comin’ home, Dad… ‘cause we’ll have a good time then…
Humans are an integral part of the universe, and cannot separate themselves from it. The universe , on the other hand has existed, and will continue to exist regardless of the presence or status of humans.
People are intimidated by aspects of nature such as deep dark forests. Also, mankind is heavily affected by natural processes which can’t be controlled. It is no plot nor plan of nature, just how it works.
Went to see the Pompeii exhibit at the Museum Center last weekend. Lot of interesting and beautiful artifacts but… The Count must admit to finding it disturbing and very sad. The casts of the people caught at the time of a horrible death got to The Count even though they had perished around 2000 years ago. They went out hard and in agony. A toddler child and the twisted distorted watch dog with the chain still around his neck. One looked like the guy was sitting, covering his face with his hands and crying. And the gladiator armor and holographic display made one think what these guys were doing and the stands were filled with people cheering them on and watching them butcher one another. A real brain worm. But Calvin’s right…
To nature, you are not special; you are meat, and if you cannot adapt and defend yourself, you will suffer a brutal and agonizing death by something that could adapt.
Are you kidding? My cats are anything BUT indifferent to me! The second I walk in the door, they are on me. They want dinner first, but for the rest of the evening it is a contest to see which of them can get on my lap first. If I am walking around, they are meowing at me to pick them up and give them a love. Boy, if I ever find the person who spoiled these cats so much, there will be some words!

Yeah, when I pass I’ll leave as much of a hole as when I take my finger out of a moving river.

Both Calvin and Hobbes and Big Nate both have a Yawn today as the punchline. That’s kinda cool!

Dopey Joe is very concerned about the effects of nature on humans. He went to the border to talk about climate change.

The reason cats are aloof is that they were worshiped as gods in Egypt and never got over it. I’d take a dog any day over a cat as a pet.

I’ve often wondered where the cats who ignore people are located; I’ve never had a cat ignore me; neither house cats nor ferals.
