In Flushing, on Northern Blvd, around 154th st, there is a row of shops. In the row, there is a Sushi shop next door to a bait shop. I haven’t been there in at least five years; I don’t know if they’re still there but I found it humourous.
I have noticed over the years that it seems most people thing sushi is raw fish. Sushi is a rice dish that often incorporates raw fish. Sushi doesn’t even have to have fish in it.

Waste not, want not. Wouldn’t want it anyway.

What ever doesn’t get eaten at the sushi bar becomes bait at the bait shop. What ever bait doesn’t sell at the bait shop goes onto the sushi bar.

Reminds me of the joke veterinary clinic / taxidermist shop, either way you get your dog back.

This would be like having a day old bakery right next door to a bakery.

Was driving through Del Mar, CA (near San Diego) years ago and saw a two story building: tropical fish store on the bottom, sushi restaurant above it

If instead of the sushi it was an electrician, it could be called “Bait and Switch”

“Sushi—I hate the stuff. Although, I tell you, I had some the other day. I took it home, I cooked it, it wasn’t bad. It tasted like fish.”

My grandfather had 2 businesses next to each other. One was a funeral home and the other a meat packing plant.
