Why did Tracy wait so long to go after her? The attempted murder would have been on the radio. Even if FM doesn’t listen to the news – and who doesn’t listen to the news after botching a hit – she knew Tess were on her way to the office and would tell the police FM was had the appointment. (FM didn’t even need to know Johnny had sent a text saying FM was just there to know she would be implicated.) But FM stayed for the show. So the $64 question is: Who is dumber?

A: The police, with a 24K suspect wait hours to contact her, and let her go on stage?

B: FM, when she knows the police are looking for her (even if not very well)?

She’ll do her famous disappearing act on stage!

TRACY: On, well, you probably have another volunteer to polish off before the Bugs Bunny cartoon and newsreel. I know these matinee crowds. I’ll wait here. SAM! Put down those props!!!

Sam volunteers! Cue the silent movie ‘suspense’ organ music!

I’m kind of surprised that she showed up for her performance after the Adonis fiasco…..

1-BRUCE: You’re on right after drag Ethel Merman finishes. DT: Are you Fats Morgan? If so, you’re under arrest for suspicion of murder.

2-FATS: WAIT! My act will feature TESS TRACY! Don’t you wanna see her on stage?

3-DT: Well…sure. I guess. FATS: Well then, wait right there. She won’t last a minute…I mean – I won’t be a minute!

well, hell’s bells… if I were Dick and I had important questions to ask of a person of interest and she looks they way she does in the third panel, I’D be HIGHLY suspicious of her and question her motivation to take flight and beat her feet on out the door… or via a ‘magic’ act…
