BTW, Freegal is a great resource for music lovers. Your library may be a subscriber. If so, your library card allows you to stream or download songs, depending on the library’s plan. They don’t get the latest hits, but you can build up a nice library of the older stuff for free. Check it out.

    You’re expecting consistency from religion?

If the preacher were smart, he might say: It could be that “working in the vineyards of the Lord” doesn’t usually pay much in material wealth for Everyman. Consider the good things done in life as contributions to a spiritual 401(k), distributions many-fold in the after-life.

Frank won’t need it in the afterlife. So why is he concerned?

You’re overthinking it. Just do whatever I say.

The only reason the church wants you to be “frugal” is so they can get the money.

No, but when you die, you don’t have to work so hard anymore.

Frank, your problem is you need a wife… that way you can be hard working and frugal and have nothing to take with you…!

Lots of that kind of dichotomy most everywhere. Nothing new in that.

It amuses me how Amazon music calls classical music “songs”, as in “my favorite song is Beethoven’s 5th.”

The idea is to have the resources to help others, not to amass riches for ourselves.
