In most cases the shipper decides who the carrier is, unless you stipulate a carrier and in that case you pay extra for it. BTW…Cranky? That is you. People like you ruin the reading experience for the rest of us.
I think Ed can relax. With the (fictional) competition, UPX will strike, but there will be other(fictional) delivery companies to pick up the slack. Bean’s End will not just sit still and wait for just one delivery if Ed is among the big paying consumers.
