Donald Trump blocked the most aggressive bipartisan legislation in thirty years because TRUMP DOES NOT WANT TO FIX THE BORDER CRISIS. Trump wants the border to remain in crisis mode so he can make a campaign issue out of it.

But not all voters are as stupid as Trump thinks.

A BIPARTISAN bill was negotiated in which Republicans got most of what they wanted on the border in exchange for aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan that was being held hostage. The Republicans got so much that some of the most PROgressive Democrats didn’t even want to support it because it gave too much to the Republicans.

So in Tuesday’s special election to fill the seat of expelled, disgraced George Santos (or George Devolder or Anthony Devolder or Anthony Zabrovsky or Kitara Ravache, or whatever his/her/their/its real name turns out to be), Tom Suozi was able to successfully throw the issue back on Republicans and note that it is now REPUBLICANS who are the ones blocking border reform and who now own the crisis, which is appropriate, since Republicans are the ones who created it by lying and saying that Democrats had open borders and essentially inviting immigrants to come en masse because they would be welcomed, none of which was true, but attracted hordes of migrants after Trump terminated aid programs in 2019 and destabilized the most impoverished communities.

Now we need to add BORDER SECURITY to our repertoire of issues, along with women’s reproductive rights, personal liberty issues, voting rights, gun safety, and the enormous economic successes we have seen under Bidenomics.

Trump wanted to run on the border crisis; instead he turned the issue over to Democrats.

They (the GQP) aren’t in it for the legislation, they’re in it to BEAT THE DEMS. That’s ALL they care about.

The GQP Senators who helped craft this bill now have their panties in a bind because the House GQP representatives are calling it DOA when they receive it. I’d describe this behavior as backstabbers backstabbing backstabbers.

I’d say the Republicans are the ones with a ticking time bomb; hopefully enough moderates and independents will see Trump’s play for what it is and vote for the guy who will step down in four years and not try to stay forever.

There is significant number of Repubs angry at Mike Johnson for blocking a vote on the issue. They are angry because even the Repubs would have gotten key tractions on issues near and dear to them.

It’s already blown up in the repugs faces in NY’s 3rd District. They didn’t expect that Tom Suozzi would lean into the issue of immigrants stealing their thunder. Dems across the board need to do the same thing nailing the blame onto tRump all the way to the polls. Mix that with the already successful pro-choice issue and we will win 2024.

How I long for the old days, when the GOP/Quislings hid their true intentions. Sigh.

Present a GOP bill to MAGA-GOP and they reject their own ideas.

Man, the Dems should take this gift and revel in it, trumpet it to the skies, blast it all over every medium available, shout it from the rooftops, and never ever let up on it right thru Nov. 5: “We had a BIPARTISAN deal to fix the border problem, and REPUBLICANS PREFERRED THE PROBLEM TO THE SOLUTION!!! If you think we’ve got problems with our immigration policies — and we do — why not vote for the party that actually wants to fix them instead of perpetuating them?”

Yet again, republicans proving they have no idea about how to govern. Dems will once again have to fix what they mess up.

As a matter of objective reality, if Traitor Trump had kept his brain-damaged yap shut, the House would have passed the bipartisan bill EASILY. Instead, the cowards caved, for fear of being primaried. Very few Republicans smart enough to be able to tie their own shoes by themselves actually think much of Traitor Trump, but they know his cult members do what they are told. And, of course, many want to inherit Traitor Trump’s base for their own agendas, even apart from fear of being primaried.
