A crack of lightning, the sound or rolling thunder! Out of nowhere a booming voice answers……“I don’t know, Charlie Brown, there’s something about you that just pi$$e$ me off!”
I just wonder, where are Charlie Brown’s parents, and do they care he appears to be missing? I know in this strip you never see them or any other adults really, with the noticeable exception of Linus and Lucy’s Mom riding their little brother Re-Run on het bike, but still…
Even when this toon was new and Charlie thought he was suffering, there were other kids who truly were suffering. Some really had no home but a cardboard box; or no food; no safety; no future. By comparison, Charlie is his own worst enemy. And, he has all his needs met, back home. But some children have no home, either.
Marcus Cole: I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, ’wouldn’t it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them?’ So now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe.

That’s okay Chuck, God doesn’t really respond to that question anyways. It’s strictly rhetorical.
