Nowadays you are supposed to put in EV charging stations. In my home town in MO there was literally a truck stop on the highway that had a neon sign that read “eat” left to right and “gas” top to bottom, sharing the ‘a’

That was already happening, Brutus. Still, not a bad idea!

Saw a taco spot behind a gas station there taco sign was behind the gas sign when you read the signs together you read. TACO GAS TO GO

So nothings changed then.

Love their contrasting expressions in the last frame. Brutus is proud of his “cleverness”, while Dino is trying his best to humor a good customer. Brutus’s future is definitely not in advertising.

I heard Red Skelton do that joke in 1972.

Oh my, an oldie. I remember that joke from when I was younger and that was a long time ago!

There is a chain around Pennsylvania called “Eat’n Park” That named always bothered me as a kid. There was a great restaurant, unfortunately now closed, called “Park and Dine.” That name is fine.

I maybe have seen those signs a long time ago, but since I developed vertigo and can’t be in a moving car on a freeway, it has probably been so long since I saw one it was new to me and made me laugh!

In my teenhood in n’rn Minnesota, I saw literally hundreds of signs that read, quoting the entirety: “Eat – Get Gas” They seemed to cluster on the highway between Brainard and Bemidji, but could be found all the way up to Duluth.

I must be old… I used to see the “Eat Here and Get Gas” signs all the time.

Where I eat out the most the opposite is happening. I am assuming they will put in new gas pumps. They haven’t removed the sign with the gas price on it, but it seems pointless to keep it lighted since you can’t buy gas.

or, shorten it to gas up at dino’s… ☺
