Warbucks never expect his “dumb housekeepers” to point guns at him, but they are only water guns in case “their ride” saw them through the windows. Here is where Tracy comes in handy. (Winifred is pregnant again, so hopefully we are at the end of the prematurely “un-pregnant” Winifred.)

What in the name of Gweedo’s goat is going on here???

This is almost as confusing as all of Firestrike’s comments or as head scratching as a JPUZZLEWHIZ “joke!”

I definitely need “Mr. Excitement” Real Deal Neil to do a daily commentary on what’s happening! LOL!

Hi, all. Just wanted to let you know that I finally updated the page on Dick Tracy Wiki I created, “List of Dick Tracy Stories in GoComics” to include the last completed story and the Minit Mystery that followed it:

Fata Morgana (December 25, 2023-February 25, 2024MM # 11: Poisoning at the Deli (February 11-February 25)

I also made note of Shelley Pleger’s last strip on February 10, and of the guest writer Eric Costello and guest artist Dee Fish on the MM. I’ll credit Charles Ettinger once this story is completed, since it starts where his time as the strip’s regular main artist begins.

Sorry it took me so long. I’ve been busy (nothing tragic, alarming or even interesting, just busy).

Well that’s a relief. What was Tracy trying to accomplish with that ‘voo doo’ move ?  So will Tracy be taken along as a bonus capture, which would help insure their escape and of course Boris gets away minus his Daddy Bigbux capture.

Winny was skinny and now she’s bloatsome, again. Does “almost pregnant” apply ?

I wonder who the outside party that might be looking through the window might be, and how does is fit into the story?

I see that I was correct in predicting a “ha, ha, just kidding” moment.

I am sure there is an explanation for this cloak and dagger bit. Dang, if I know what it is. Boris doesn’t trust them to carry out the assignment. He reminds me of Mr. French from Family Affair.

What is apparently going on here is that Annie’s future parents are undercover FBI in Sirob’s organization.

Now they’ve got about 5 minutes to come up with a plan “on the fly” on how to fake Warbucks’ kidnap and make it look good,

Or knowing Oliver, he may volunteer to go along just to meet Sirob face to face.

As for “the condition”, if Annie’s Mom wants to go to work,I’d like to see somebody try and stop her.

But now this brings up the improbability of Warbucks’ wife picking Annie “at random” out of the orphanage crowd BEHIND HEr HUSBAND’S BACK.

Waving a water pistol around is a good way to get shot.

Now we have to believe that Warbucks and Annie were somehow tied together before she was even born — that’s her in utero there in panel two and three — when there was already a perfectly good origin story to their relationship (Warbucks bought her from a crooked orphanage to burnish his public image so he could keep selling defective artillery shells to that commie FDR).

This strip is getting more confusing by the day. Whatever happened to the fugitive magicians anyway ?

Some guy once said “sometimes a cigar is just a cigar” but that gun and its little squirts reminds me of something I saw in an art film I frequently rewatch . Is there some subliminal messaging we’re supposed to be picking up on ? I see that Winifred “gets around” (wink wink) so maybe there’s an understory here .

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but I thought Tracy had never met Warbucks or Annie until their first story Mike wrote here in Dick Tracy. Am I correct on that or was I assuming that was the case?

and for the record, As an artist, Charles is doing a great job following on from Shelly, it’s just this “miscommunication error” doesn’t look good for the first story on one of the biggest remaining legacy comic strips out there.

Let us not get too fond of, or invested in, Harold and Winnie, since we know that Annie will orphaned before too long.
