Looks like the house explosion scene from Heavy Metal, the movie.

Tail fluffed and uninjured so far, Wally is navigating the destruction the best he can. The only path is forward. I hope the others are faring as well.

I had a chipmunk striped cat whose tail puffed up bigger than he was when angry or afraid.

Have to wonder where the rest of the crew got off to…hopefully out of harm’s way…certainly nothing around Wally/Cracky is ship shape any longer

It looks to me as though Wally is no longer falling/running through huge ships and buildings but rather through more regular sized debris, eg. the window, table?, railing. Could he be coming to an actual landing spot?

Two thoughts about the return to black and white format:

One, it has always been doggoned difficult to see what’s going on in black and white.

But, lately, two, the color pages with eight or more panels per episode (compared to just four), the story seemed to move a little better.

It’s almost as if Aaron wants us to check in just once a year – it’s starting to look like that’s the only way to see some progression in the story anymore!

To enhance your comic reading experience, try singing some of the Titanic songs while reading today’s comic.

Aaron, c’mon. We wait weeks to see your newest comic and the only thing we get is ANOTHER scene of Wally navigating through debris? We want to see what has happened to the others! I want to know what has happened to Wally’s family!

People complain about the slow pace of this comic. Would these same people have stood over Rembrandt’s shoulder kibitzing? Or told Michelangelo the right way to hold his sculpting tools? Would they have criticized Shakespeare’s plots? Aaron Neathery is a great artist and storyteller. We do not tell him what to do.

Dynamic Exit! If Wally ends up running into the kitchen rooms, would the fridge survive the Bad Landing? Is the food still good? Or would his Cracky Cat body magnetically attract all the pies? Wally’s still around ground level. He just has to find someplace that isn’t moving at speed out from underneath his feet.

I will say this: I now know just how HARD it is to do even three months of a daily comic strip, and that’s just the writing. It’s given me an entirely new perspective on what the artists/writers/artists-writers do. These days, I’m a bit more likely to cut folks like Aaron slack, now that I’ve peeked behind the curtain.

To the people complaining about how slowly the story is unfolding, remember that these strips are going to be collected into book form, and anyone reading the book is going to tear through 10-15 pages in a row. It may feel like it’s taking forever for the individual strips to come out right now, or for the action to resolve right now. That is part of being a spectator when someone else is doing all the heavy work. Aaron is working at a pace that won’t put him back in the hospital. If you are too impatient to let him keep that pace, then come back in a few months and check in again then.

Wally was behind everyone, nearly got flattened by a falling car, got catapulted onto the deck of the falling ship, that collided with a sky scraper. He & the ship have just cut through the center of the building and he blasted out the window on the other side of the building, barely ahead of the explosion of splintered jetsam. The whole merged superstructure is sinking into the sands of the yet-unknown reality; Whether the others made it to the waters edge, or were likewise caught up in the interdimensional collision remains unknown. Does this about sum it up?
