That’s a GOOD April Fool’s joke.

I remember April Fool’s Day being on Good Friday back in 1983 when I was sixteen.

Today (April 1) is my birthday. Sometimes it falls on Easter….which it WOULD have this year had it not been a Leap Year.

One April, I picked up a science magazine for the first time. It was the editors habit of inserting one nonsense article in their April 1 issue. Not knowing this, I read it, two or three times. Each time, it sounded a little more plausible than the last. When I brought it to the attention of a colleague, she got a serious case of the giggles. After my face returned to its natural color, she explained what the editors do every April Fools. That’s all it took to make me a more critical, less gullible, reader.

That’s a very good April’s fool joke ….

One of my parents’ rules for us kids was “Don’t tease the pets.” Of course we did, just when the grown-ups weren’t looking.

My brother-in-law had a much better rule for his kids “If you tease the pets, you MUST give them a treat.” Yep, they had very happy housepets.

Red is being very good to his best friend today…I’m glad he did not REALLY prank Rover.
