Those kind of Cargo ships should never have been in that Channel. It is also a failure of regulations.

Amazing how quickly the Q’s came to the conclusion that the race of the mayor and governor was the core problem.

My son sails for a living, he used to help pilot container vessels like the one in the accident. If you lose your power, what people in the industry call “the plant,” you have zero control. It doesn’t matter if you are in the middle of the ocean or in a shipping channel, you have zero control.

The letters in Ronald Wilson Reagan can be rearranged to spell out Insane Anglo Warlord with no leftovers or need for any extra letters.

Sometimes it’s a mechanical failure. Sometimes it’s not a conspiracy. Weird when conspiracies are easier to believe than the plain truth.

Something like this, brings all the Monday Morning Engineers out, to share their genius with the world.

I say; give all these experts a battery powered sawzall, some blades and put ’em to work.

No doubt Baltimore Dems are happy to see Republicans spout their culture war garbage, because it distracts from the politicians’ creed of money over life. Democrats were happy to spend hundreds of millions (equivalent to more than a billion today) to build a bridge or two, but as cargo ships went from big to humongous, protecting the bridge wasn’t “sexy” enough.

When is it going to occur to people that the republicans are just spouting nonsense?

Current planetary population is 8.1 billion and growing at a net gain of over 200,000 per day. That number puts us at over 6 billion past sustainable. Scientists weren’t kidding when they talked about a population bomb back in the late 1940s when the planetary population was a tad pass 2 billion. That bridge was build in the 1970s to handle stuff to service half of the planet’s current population. The growing teaming hordes want a lot of stuff and that means bigger and bigger stuff handling ships as we strip our planet of resources and pollute the atmosphere to the point of making growing enough food for the hordes dicey. This means building bridges with critical support piers that sit on islands large enough to handle even bigger ships going astray until a horrible fast spreading very deadly virus does a massive population reduction and in turn massively reduces stuff demand. The good news is more and more educated, working and independent women are not having unwanted and unneeded babies or having any at all. This, of course, freaks the republican cult out because it means that their corporate overlords will find it more and more difficult to insure next quarter’s profits will continue to rise due to the every increasing demand of more and more people.

Hasn’t the Conservative Party sunk even lower in their conspiracies. The party is succeeding in their plans to keep their followers scared and angry.

#GOP have become conspiracy-mongers ever since the incompetence of the Bush administration resulted in 9/11, torture, and two useless wars.

Cargo ships can’t get into the docks so …I’m thinkin’…can we just weld some wheels on these cargo ships and then roll them up and down 95? How hard would it be?

Seems like it would work? Just stick a DEALER plate on them.

Considering that trump wanted to drop a A-bomb on a hurricane, my idea sounds pretty good. Nothing beats good solid American Ingenuity.

Rules have changed. Formerly, no ship could enter or leave most restricted access harbors without a tug in attendance. $$$, but we see the result of loosening those restrictions.

The amount of energy, the right expends on dumb issues is exhausting. They fight against drag queens, but keep silent about clergy and others who are supposed to protect children. They ban books and champion bigotry. Lawmakers vote against feeding children and loosening child protections. And these are the “people of Jesus.” Jesus was a Middle Eastern liberal, they would crucify him all over again.
