Humans are prone to conflict. As long as there are humans there will be conflict. Humans are not the only creatures involved in conflict. Even plants fight it out for space and territory, water, nutrients and sunlight.
(There are interesting examples of cooperation, however. Plants will provide sugars to fungi in exchange for fungi providing minerals to plants. Plants provide fruit and nuts to animals who in the process of consuming those fruit or nuts will scatter the seeds so the plants can go places where they could not otherwise go.)
The people in B.C. seem to have world peace. You never see anybody in B.C. have fights and killings. Even the tribe across the ocean may be smart alecks but they don’t seem violent and on the warpath.
A nice juicy Carrington event. Send the world back to 1858 technology wise, deplete the population by attrition and have some AMISH nearby to teach the SURVIVORS to live simply.
I hate to tell all these doomsday people suffering from a Cassandra “syndrome” That they are wrong humanity will be around till the end of time. It is these pessimistic stupid people, who are “feeding the wrong wolf”. They are the ones breeding more violence into the world. Pessimism Is a toxic trait.

Considering that once lit, a fuse keeps smoldering until it reaches the explosive. This fuse is getting shorter every day.

If extinction is the key to world peace, but no one is around to witness it, does it really exist?

I remember a tv episode, someone gets a genie, wishes for world peace, and the person is the only one left in the world, everyone else is gone.
