I was always surly in the morning…..in the old days, you should not start an argument by saying, “Good Morning”.

I’ve a cure for his surliness. Calvin’s dad just needs to remember the dead bugs in the shampoo bottle stunt. He’ll be dancing in the street on the way to work!

I just hope Dad doesn’t take his attitude out on his co-workers. At least he has the knowledge that he’s miles away from Calvin.

If he gets to 65 before he knows it, Cal will be thrown into the adult world just as fast. May be that that is what he told him.

For Cal, everyone else changes, grows older. He doesn’t.

Calvin’s smart but often fails to connect the dots.

I retired at 64 and it is great!!

I don’t know about everyone else, but as a kid, I was never up as early as my dad to have a conversation with him before he went to work.

I will be 59 next month. 6 years to go. My wife has another 5 after that. So… I need to figure out what I will do part time until she joins me. I’m thinking about getting a personal training certification. Or maybe bartender / bouncer. Even though bartending/bouncer sounds fun, my wife would not like me being away on the weekends.

I have always been amazed that Calvin’s Mom and Dad did not resort to alcohol and mind altering agents to deal with the kid; Mom with a few bottles of wine in the kitchen and a script for “Mother’s Little Helper” aka Valium and Dad simply having a fifth or 2 of his favorite beverage stashed away somewhere with nightly stops for happy hour at the pub before returning home and face the kid……….

He’d still rather go to work that listen to Mom scream at Calvin about the dead bugs in her shampoo.

You certainly make your dad feel that old, Calvin.

Calvin’s dad considers work to be a home away from home.

Calvin should write these down. He can use them again after he retires. :)

I am 70 and still working, so I am not retired, just tired. If Calvin keeps up with his comments and actions, he may not reach puberty. You know when Dad rents a Cat 395 – Tier 4 / Stage V That Calvin is going to be in deep.

That is what I am doing, though not under a tree, reading and exercise and little programs.

Not only did Calvin stick the knife in, he also twisted it.

I think this strip only 10 years because Calvin didn’t survive. (nah, just kidding)

Dad should remind him about how much he hates school! At least he gets paid for hid work!

I’ll be that age next year but I will work till I’m 70 to max out my social security increases.

It was nice the last few weeks before my son was born to have some reading time.

I’ll bet he can hardly wait to be old. Calvin.

My Dad just turned 73 last month and still has to work about 15 hours a week to make enough to live on and savings because of not getting very much in social security because 90% of his work has always been self-employement for his cleaning company so social security is different from someone who works for a company and not their own buisiness. They aren’t hard jobs but he gets tired quicker and his legs and feet get sore in the evenings.

In Texas, USA school teachers need their age and years of service to add up to the number 85. Age 61 and with 24 years’ service, I will be eligible but not financially secure to retire.
