Plugger grandmas didn’t color their hair blue (or purple) intentionally though.

… but why?

Please, Pluggers … don’t bring back the ‘60s beehive ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ hairdo!

Only her hairdresser knows …

Eh me never see one with blue hair.

I don’t remember any women coloring their hair to that extent, or the skin baring clothes of today other than the ladies of the evening. The women just didn’t do that – plus their husbands who cared for their wives and the respect they received from the children kept them from doing those things… at least in my neck of the prairie in the upper plains midwest, etc.

Poisonous creatures advertise their toxicity with vibrant colors.

The only women I’ve seen with blue hair have been under 40. Generally, robin’s egg blue.

I leave my hair alone, except for the occasional trim.

Used to be women would deign or hide the fact they coloring their hair. Now the flaunt it.

I used to know an older woman who tinted her white hair the palest hint of mint green, so subtle that you had to look twice to be sure you saw it. It brought out the deep green of her eyes beautifully!

Top it off with blue press-on fingernails.

This plugger remembers as a child, approximately 1963… sigh being at a drug store looking at comic books and an older lady with tinted pink hair that matched the tiny toy poodle she was carrying! Certainly not the bold color pink many use now! My mom explained pink and blue tints were used when a woman didn’t want to be grey-haired.

I still see elderly ladies with blue hair occasionally…

Glad and thankful I never liked dyed/colored hair. Ewww.

so they were cool before it was cool…cool!

Oh yeah. And they drive Buicks. Known as “Q-tips in Buicks.”

Tuesdays are “blue hair” days around here (Senior discount day).

It looks like our plugger today went a little heavy on the blue rinse. The idea is to just cover up any yellowing of the grey hair.
