An historic injustice, long overdue for remediation, finally corrected.

Star players like Josh Gibson, Satchel Paige and other stars of the Kansas City Monarchs, Homestead Grays, Detroit Stars would have been stars in the National League and American League, so that players like Ty Cobb (the “Georgia Peach,” an outspoken Southern racist), Cy Young, Babe Ruth and others whose stats were inflated because they never had to compete against the superstars like Gibson, Paige and others that dominated the old Nëgro Leagues, and instead got to play against weaker, watered-down talent that took the places that should have gone to those superstars. In like manner, the Nëgro League stats were inflated because they, too, did not have the chance to face the best talent in the American and National Leagues. Both white and black superstars were denied the opportunity to prove their talents against a full field of top talent until Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier.

It is only fitting and proper that the Nëgro Leagues also be accorded full major league status, equal with the National and American Leagues, because its players were of fully equal or greater skill and ability than those in the watered-down white leagues who never had to compete against them. (In exhibition competition between National League, American League and Nëgro Leagues teams, the even balance in outcomes over the years proves that they were of equal talent and skill).

Justice has been long in coming — too long (justice delayed has been justice denied for the Nëgro League players who did not live to see this day) — but it is good that at least the historical record will now be a more honest and complete accounting of baseball history.

Baseball statistics are tricky. Do they include all professional leagues? Would that include the Japanese Leagues too? I think Oh is the all time Homerun leader.

You can’t just say all American teams either as part of the MLB is in Canada. Minor League Statistics aren’t generally included in the HOF, right?

All baseball parks are different. That is just the nature of baseball, But the rules are slightly different too. I don’t know how much that matters, but statistics are important to baseball geeks. The rules, and sizes of the pitching mounds have been adjusted over time.

Should the baseball HOF include the N*gro Leagues? Definitely. The Japanese Leagues? I don’t know. (Taiwan has a League too, I think). I’m just wary of mixing statistics from League to League.

They could just change Cobb’s inscription to read “Baseball’s nastiest player.”

How soon will it be before the white nationalist wing of the GQP starts screaming about how they’re being replaced?

From all accounts, a nasty racist man but hardly alone in baseball (and the society) of the times.

Baseball…all around dullest way to get a sunburn.

Only thing duller than watching baseball, is listening to some dope sportscaster, telling you what you’re seeing.

Anyone hear about a verdict? Anyone?

Definition of stupidity: Holding history to today’s standard. As smart as a Hammering a square peg in a round hole.

What will Clay be putting out tomorrow? In all fairness, Bramhall and Britt already put something out.

While the incorporation of N*gro League statistics into MLB statistics is long overdue, the only person noting any objection to it is Clay, and only because he can’t resist race baiting!

Monte Irvin and Roy Campanella played in both regular and non-regular leagues—-which statistics do we use for them?

conservatives villainize “woke”. “woke”, much like ‘politically correct’, is simply showing consideration for your fellow American. Correcting history. Do conservatives oppose showing consideration, or just oppose Americans?

I said from the beginning that if the jurors had a rock bottom bare minimum of intelligence, honesty, patriotism, and sanity, they would convict Traitor Trump on all counts.

From Field of Dreams. Shoeless Joe Jackson said “We didn’t invite Ty Cobb. No one liked that S.O.B.”

Cobb was pretty typical of upper middle class Georgians of his day as far as racial attitudes are concerned. His family situation growing up was more Faulknerish. He was not a nice guy.

Maybe we could jazz up Baseball by mashing it with other games. Maybe every third pitch, use a tennis ball. Make shortstop, wear Hockey gloves on both hands. Put BIG mud-puddle at first base. Losing team gets to throw pig out onto field, while ball in play. Hire umpire with seeing eye dog.

Me fulla good ideas today. Me see trump on TV today. He not look so good. trump got many troubles. Maybe he got bad fortune cookie from chinese take-out? Not sure.
