We played superheroes on a down telephone pole by the baseball backstops. Many fond adventures of our copies of the fantastic four. :) (Eventually put them in my superheroes RPGs, partly as a remembrance of one of us who is gone.)
We played a similar game in gym at one of my old schools. That one was “Crocodile infested river”. Instead of lava, there were supposed to be crocodiles underneath.
Welcome to Drama-Banana, not your ordinary drama. Wallace is burning (like Anakin) and Spud is crying “Noooooo” (like Luke), so I’d say they are showing “Star Wars, a-bridge edition”!
We’ve all done this in our childhood, made an extremely dramatic and Oscar-worthy storyline with our friends because we were bored on a playground.Okay, maybe not that great of a story, but it certainly felt like it.

Luck for Wallace that the teacher didn’t have a fire extinguisher handy right then.

If only their flair for drama would translate to Final Essays, which are due on Tuesday.

Yep, we did that decades ago. Or with shark-infested waters, in which case some of us got to play the sharks.

The Rabbit Hole of imaginative play. Not a lost art, but unfortunately more rarely exercised.

I loved the simplicity of this. Children acting out scenes. Adults wondering, “Whyyy?”

Is this recess at school? Looks like the teacher in the last panel. Love her expression :^)..

I wonder if Ms MacIntosh has met Sterling…? She may well long for the care free days with Wallace.

Will the comic be renamed “Spud” now that Wallace has so tragically perished? Or will we see a battle to the death between Amelia and Sterling?
