There’s a slightly sour smell coming from our 9-year-old’s room this morning. Time for HIM to (1) find the source, and (2) learn why the HECK we put a trash can in his room!!
At least you get to sit. We had to stand. “That’s it! Stand in the corner for ONE HOUR!” It felt like an eternity. An hour is a long time to a little kid.
I fondly remember my kids telling me their rooms were clean. I’d go upstairs with my broom and sweep it under their beds to find they’d take the easy route to getting rid of the mess!

Passive aggressiveness does not work on an overly literal kid. I know. I was one.

You’re lucky she didn’t dump the whole mess on your head Hammie. And then make you carry each item to where it belongs.

That’s not fair! All Hammie did was give his mom a helpful healthy advice.

A kid with an attitude like that needs his butt lifted off the floor but at least a foot ( unintended pun here)

But what will the monsters under the bed do for entertainment / nourishment now that you’ve removed everything from under the bed?

Mom then supervise Hammie on cleaning out his room. I remember when my kids was little, I told them have a treasure hunt and clean their rooms.
