Not a tough one to explain. I drew hearts. A wave washed away the lower half of the hearts. A wave washed away their butts, so to speak.

Saw a GIF today of people on a low shore watching and videoing a passing passenger liner. 10 seconds later and the wave washed ashore and took their food , plates, and the blanket! And nearly took them!!

We’re those hearts for Amelia? Could this be puppy love? Inquiring minds wanna know.

It’s an illustration for “Butts in the Sand” a novel, by Sandy Crack.

Butts? These are clearly birds.

And this reminds me of the ( late 1960s ) Albert Finney / Yvette Mimeux movie “The Picasso Summer.” The crucial scene involves a husband and wife discovering elaborate sketches on a sandy beach just as the incoming tide is washing them away.

Based on a wonderful short story by Ray Bradbury… who also wrote the screenplay.

I was thinking they were birds, not buts Amelia.

Wallace: “It seemed like a good idea at the time.”

Amelia: “Can I draw them too?”

Wallace: “What makes you think these are butts?“

Amelia is slightly toxic. Friends, fine, but let it stay that way.

Surprised Amelia isn’t placing strategic heel prints above the creases at the top of the (he)arts.

There actually are many people who suggest that the “heart shape” we all use was derived from the shape of buttocks, so that means Amalia isn’t that far off.

I wish Wallace/Will Henry wouldn’t shill for McDonald’s.

I thought it stood for mmmmmmm…good but I like Amelia’s guess better!

Wallace can add a pair of dots to each and have something entirely different.

A kid can love many things and, most importantly, many people in ways that are not romantic. After all, Wallace is a kid, not a teen.
