The Dems need to be out PUSHING Biden’s successes. And listening to the younger voters.

Only first of two debates and Biden answered every question with well thought out answers but trump gave no answers to questions asked but just spoke lies and accusations. To many people are willing to believe trump’s lies hoping that he is not lying again. Wishful thinking in one hand and crap in the other are equal in value.

No such place. We do have a Democratic Party headquarters though.

Balderdash. The bench is deep and no help wanted is needed; and besides, unless Biden is convinced to step off the stage, his name will be on the ballot. It doesn’t matter who: VOTE BLUE up and down the ballot.

Taped the debate. After reading news headlines [not the text] and seeing these remarks, I plan to do an hour at a time and just watch and listen. Other opinions on the debate won’t change my vote, but it will be interesting to see if what I view and what is being said about it are even vaguely accurate.

It was embarrassing and I felt bad for Biden. I know better, because I’ve seen him in action in other places, but to many Americans this is the ONLY view that they will get of Biden.

Biden needed to stand up. Instead he was every bit the weak, feeble-minded, confused old man that the Republican Party needed him to be. No “cheap fake” photography could demean him as effectively as his own actions. When he needed to stand up, he fell down.

If you listen to the words, Biden clearly won the debate. Trump was his usual bag of meanness, arrogance and lies. However, it is not the words, the voters will vote on, it is how they were delivered or in Biden’s case, mumbled or slurred out.

If I did not know better, and millions of Americans do not, I would conclude that the old man is not competent to be president. It’s not the lies of the Republican Party that would convince me, but Biden’s own lack of performance.

If I were still a hiring manager and a candidate came in and acted that way on an interview, he would not get the job. For the record, I wouldn’t hire Trump either.

I’m not worried about Joe. Yes, it was a poor showing but he was sick with a cold, he was way over prepared and the rushed response times put his stutter on full display. His strength was back on full display the next day when he felt better. He’ll know now to just speak from his heart and counter tRump’s incessant lies and continue to call tRump out for the convicted felon that he is. Who knows, tRump might even be in prison for the next debate.

The debate was unnecessary. A decent man versus a traitorous felon. No contest. Go Joe!!! Go Blue!!

It is a conundrum for Democrats. Here, in the “GoComics” bubble, the rationales provided for Biden make perfect sense. But how does that play with John and Jane Public? Impressions, for good or ill, matter and I wonder if there’s enough time for Biden to correct the persona he presented some of the time on Thursday. If Democrats really think that Trump is an “existential threat” are they certain that Biden is the best to insure that threat does not come to be? Is it an example of the sunken cost fallacy in action?

All of that being said, I will vote for whoever is running against the ignorant, lying, grifting, crass, me-first candidate of the GOP.

The debate was a BIG success. The media had plenty of time to set up their desired narrative. We “learned” Nothing that we didn’t already know. They got all the desired click bait results they wanted. And now can shout them endlessly till the next “debate”.

If.. Joe insists on stays in the race he needs to switch vice presidents. Kamala Harris has been a disaster and needs to be replaced with someone like the governor of California. A personal.. forceful speaker that would remove the worry folk have now were Joe to pass.

It’s terrifying that these are our only two choices. Only the blind point to the faults of the other side without equally bemoaning the awful choice their side has put forward.

The Democrats need to evaluate two alternatives:

The first is to rebrand Biden. I think the damage is too great to repair.

The second is to have a change of command. Keep the platform, keep the policies, keep everything else on course. Put a new captain in the wheelhouse, push the throttles forward, d@mned the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

The Republicans have only three issues to harp on:

The first is “open borders” that can be countered with the Republicans refusal to pass bipartisan legislation or even come up with a bill of their own to fix the issue. Contrary to Trump’s lies, immigration is actually good for our economy. We should be glad to be able to import workers. We’d have to condense a rather dry Scientific American article for public consumption to sell that truth.

Something along the lines of: “You like to eat? We need field workers. You want a house? We need laborers. You like to eat fish? We need people working on boats.” I am smart enough to know that I couldn’t even enjoy a glass of wine without someone picking the grapes.

Inflation: this one has been played out, People can see that it is abating. Also there are metrics to prove that Trump did a worse job with inflation than Biden. Under Trump, our inflation rate was 10% HIGHER than Europe. Biden reversed that.

Biden’s age: a new captain takes this one away.

If the D’s pick a new person, they get instant press coverage and the opportunity to sell their program. Otherwise, they play defense and essentially try to sell, “Well, Biden isn’t really as bad as he looks.” It’s a weak argument.

The scary thing is that neither candidate is likely to survive his term.

Biden is just too old and Trump is a ticking time bomb for a heart attack.

Mr. Stahler needs an editor — “Democrat” is the noun, while “Democratic” is the adjective.
