Liberals on here, still trying to prop up this guy. Pathetic! America deserves to know who is really running this country and talking into Biden’s earpiece.
The problem with Americans is that we love to be entertained. It doesn’t matter to some of us if we get lied to, cheated, screwed over and talked to like we’re dogs. As long as we’re entertained. Honesty, and doing what you say you will do is so boring. They want some orange lunatic to get up and scream and dance like he’s stroking off two men at once, and use words like it’s us and them, when we are all Americans. They want to listen to a lunatic talk about Hannibal Lector like he’s a real person, and sharks, and electric boats that sink. WTF does this nonsense have to do with being president? NOTHING, but they are getting entertained. Some people are almost too stupid to breathe.
Look up Gish Gallop. It’s a technique people like Traitor Trump use, because they don’t have a leg to stand on. Better moderation would have curbed that, but CNN is so busy proving they aren’t liberal that they are leaning hard right.
Fluid intelligence begins to decline in our 20s, but takes a big dip by our late 70s (the offset provided by crystalized intelligence (wisdom) maxes out in one’s 60s). This has nothing to do with dementia, but it does mean we’re not as sharp as we were in our 50s. Combine this with lower stamina caused by aging and health issues and the likelihood of bad decisions ramps up. For the same reason there is a minimum age limit, there should be a maximum age limit on all politicians. It’s funny, my fellow geezers acknowledge they can’t see as well, aren’t as agile as they were, and get tired easily, but suggest that the mind declines too and they get very defensive.
Losing one debate doesn’t necessarily mean defeat for the loser. In 2012, it was widely considered that Mitt Romney won his debate with Barack Obama. But, on Election Day, Obama ended up being elected. In 2004, John Kerry won his debates against George W. Bush, but Bush ended up winning (albeit not by much). In 2016, Hillary Clinton won her debates against Donald Trump but lost the electoral vote (though she won the popular vote). The election is five months away and in US politics, one month is an eternity. We still have the conventions and the second debate. Most of the independent swing voters will tune into the election around Labor Day. A lot can happen between now and then.
What becomes exceedingly scary is the DNC blocking any emerging Democratic leader from nominations for president. They don’t think ANYONE is capable of beating the GOP.
Kamal Harris is in the way of Biden’s retirement. She should consider withdrawing as well — just like her early exit from the Primaries when the DNC convinced her that she doesn’t stand a chance on the National and Global arenas.
Help, Democrats! Please put together a stronger ticket or the WhiteHouse goes to the GOP. At least TRY to win.
Reagan’s first debate was terrible. Bill Clinton’s first debate was no better. George W. sounded like a special needs person against a very intelligent Gore in his first debate. Debates don’t decide elections for me. Governing does.
The real disaster was the performance of the convicted felon cult leader Trump. Every single thing he said was an obvious lie and people so far have said in poll after poll that he reminded people of why he was thrown out of office, convicted of 34 felonies, adjudicated a rapist and business fraud.
Meh, like I wrote last week, go ahead and gloat. In a race to the bottom, Biden won. So, take your victory lap. I have no problem acknowledging Biden’s terrible performance. Will any conservative acknowledge Trump’s lie, ever?
Yeah, because the flatuant one lying and not answering any questions was better than the President that took a while to get over the barrage of poop being thrown at him from a known traitor to the USA. Biden finished strong.
I’m not sure why Biden was a bit off from his normal self. Whether he was fighting a cold, or just dealing with Traitor Trump’s reported smell. It was good to see him find his stride towards the end.
The bigger question that needs to be asked, is why was Traitor Trump’s status as a convicted felon, who is out on bail for another case, not being asked about that.
More importantly, why isn’t the Republican Party asking for him to step down.
Also, why isn’t this the headline on all the newspapers.
Republican Party Chooses Convicted Felon Out on Bail For More Felony Trials as Presidential Nominee.

I watched Simone Biles take a fall on beam this evening. Simone freakin’ Biles took a fall on beam during the Olympic trials for women’s gymnastics.
Guess who came in first for all-around in the trials… Go on…
OK, I’ll tell you: It was Simone Biles.
The analogy seems pretty clear to me, but for the metaphor-impaired: Biden took a fall in the first debate. He’s a lot more like Biles than a loser.

Lawrence O’Donnell pointed out that debates don’t demonstrate any of what a president does on a day-to-day basis.

The bad part is that Trump might win. The good part is that Biden probably won’t.

Not having the ability to debate tells a lot about a President’s ability to negotiate!

34 guilty felony counts, a rape judgement, and some 60 more charges pending make for needed reading.
