Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Didnât go for the âdecoder ringsâ, went for the boxes that had the parts to build a bridge on themâI think they were âNabisco Shredded Wheatâ, the big ones not the âspoon-sizeâ ! ! !
I ate A LOT more cereal when I was very young. Being a sucker for creative advertising aimed at kids, I just had to try almost everything new that came along. Soon after learning to read, I read the back of cereal boxes while eating, much as adults read newspapers.
Unfortuanately, Decoder Rings never came in Bran cereals. Just Ovaltine chocolate mix, adn maybe Cracker Jacks. I got Scuba Divers from Sugar Crispies I think it was.
Mom bought me Keds âtennis shoesâ for the school year once, and they came with a decoder ring. Red plastic, iirc, and I think it had a secret compartment under the dial. My dad told me he once sent off for a premium â a decoder ring from the radio show âMelvin Purvis: G-Manâ. Always wanted to find another one for him, but never could.
I ate Cheerios (no milk â dry) as a child for breakfast. Now I have them for late night snack same way. How late? Just ate them and it is 2:50 am.
Husband has instant grits (my apologies for mentioning same to those of you from the south) for his late night snack.
Having finished our healthy snacks â we have moved on to ice cream cones. (Both Diabetic and need to eat before bed or might drop low overnight as we will not eat again until around 1 or 2 pm tomorrow when we have our first meal of the day â lunch, well, we have already had breakfast before we went to bed.)

One cereal, with sufficient number of box-tops, gave me a property deed of a plot, 1 inch by 1 inch, of Yukon Territory.
I could not keep it though. Taxes were too high.

If you eat the same cereal now that you did as a kid, youâre possibly a plugger.

Plain old oatmeal for breakfast, save the sugary kidâs cereal for the occasional dessert.

Hmm, I donât think that would be possible without eating it sometimes for lunch and/or dinner.

I only eat âbran nameâ cereal. It does the job and costs less.
