The fact that he was adopted (assuming it’s true) is quite a bombshell! I guess I was mistaken about Mysta being the head of security. She is only “part of the security team,” and not its head.

I’m so sorry but I liked this cartoon when it was about chasing the bad guys and Dick Tracy and his pal Sam were involved with solving the crimes .

BTW, in a lot of cultures through history uncles marrying nieces was common. She is reflecting modern American views on the subject. I don’t know how Lunarian culture views the practice. Check your local library… You won’t find any serious study of Lunarianopology.

I guess the ick! factor prevents from reading Ro-Zan’s last line and reimagining the scene with Thor there as the Moon governor: “Have a care. He is of the Moon and my brother.” “He tried to kill you and overthrow the government.” “He is adopted.”

There is a lot of complicated history behind today’s strip. For new readers and others who don’t know that history:

1. Mysta Chimera is not the daughter of Moon Governor in any legal or formal sense. She was originally a human woman named Glenna Ermine who was kidnapped by Mr. Bribery’s criminal organization and subjected to physiological and psychological experiments in an effort to transform her into a clone of the original Moon Maid, Moon Governor’s daughter, who was killed in 1978.

2. The cloning experiments (using the original Moon Maid’s DNA) were completely successful, and because Lunar DNA is dominant over human DNA, Mysta has since developed into the genetic twin sister of the original Moon Maid. This means that Moon Governor is essentially her genetic father, though again, they have no legal relationship.

3. When Ro-Zan seduced Mysta in 2022, she did not know he was the brother of Governor. Now of course she’s grossed out and angry with Ro-Zan, because according to the understanding she has had until today, he is her genetic uncle, though not related to her in any legal sense.

4. Mysta also despises Ro-Zan because after he seduced her, he attempted to murder Moon Governor and Tracy as part of his plot to invade and conquer Earth. Tracy thwarted Ro-Zan’s schemes, and until Ro’s recent reappearance in the strip, we had assumed he was incarcerated at New Moon Valley. How he got loose and escaped to Earth in a Space Coupe is an open question.

5. As we learned this past Thursday, Ro-Zan has come to Earth feigning friendship, but in reality he is preparing the way for a future invasion of Earth.

6. Ro-Zan is now claiming to have been adopted into Moon Governor’s family, meaning that he and Mysta are not genetically related in any sense, i.e., he is not her genetic uncle after all. Whether he’s telling the truth about this, and how it may mitigate Mysta’s attitude toward him, are also open questions.

I think its tie to worry about restaurants here. Passed one this morning touting Piggy On A Pretzel. What the heck is THAT? A porksicle??

OH, so now he’s gaslighting her too. I’m just wondering if she’s going to go all Mad Mindy on him.

Electricity is wonky here. It’s like half of it has gone down. I have some things that woirk, fortunately the fridge is one and some light s are working to while some others had gone off and then start working again. I plug the comp in to charge, it starts and then shows no charging. A good bet I wont be around at turnover as I am on the comp’s battery and so will shut down soon unless it starts charging again.

And that’s her main complaint against the murdering insurrectionist seducer?
