There is an opera by Shostakovich called “The Nose”. Some mid-level official’s nose escapes and goes off to live its best life.

When I see this motif in The Argyle Sweater, I don’t bother to read it. Meh. Never funny (to me). On OTHER days, however, it’s hilarious.
