Why do Americans think celebrities make good political leaders? Reagan, Trump, Shirley Temple, Al Franken, Schwarzenegger, George Murphy, Clint Eastwood, Sonny Bono. I guess actual smart people know better than to get involved in that cesspool.
What do you think about the idea that children should have votes, to be used by their parents on their behalf until they are old enough to be interested?
Well, when the educational system is dumbed down to the lowest common denominator, all it’s going to produce are people who developmentally stagnate at the adolescent stage of mental acuity, giving them an Entitlement Mentality and little or no respect for self and others; in other words: sheeple that are susceptible to collectivist ideologies that empower the State and devalue the people, causing social decay and a loss of cohesion that in turn requires increased force to ensure production. This then causes rebellious behavior which often turns violent, forcing the State to retaliate with enough overwhelming power to accommodate even genocide, as history has shown every single time unchecked Collectivism has been implemented. But, hey! Something for nothing, am I right?
Kind of hard to know the issues if all you go by are ads that are misleading. And the reporting is just as bad. You really have to dig to find out what the positions really are. Or remember recent history as it actually happened and not as it was reported.
Children cannot vote, they cannot drink, unless 16, they cannot drive. Children are too immature for making decisions that will affect the rest of their lives. However, there is one political party that believes that children can make the decision to try and change their gender. What kind of people are they? Sick, sick, sick!
No one should vote for lying sexist Trump who wants to force every woman to carry every pregnancy and turn the USA into a 3rd rate dictatorship where women are 2nd class citizens. Peter Thiel who pays JD Vance thinks that women should not be allowed to vote. Don’t vote for people who want to take your vote and your autonomy over your own body away.
I had a good phone call from a representative of one of our US Senate candidates last night, trying to sway me to vote for their candidate. I’m open-minded and we had a pretty good discussion (particularly when I could get the caller off the pre-written material she was working with), but she definitely lost some points when she asked me to consider voting for her candidate and if I find the candidate hasn’t delivered, then I can vote her out in four years. I said “don’t you mean six years?” since it’s a race for US Senate. She insisted it’s a four-year term “just like the Presidential term”. Lost a few points for that, they really need to educate their marketing people on some basic civics before having them get into debates with people they call.
Voting is a peaceful alternative to war. If the election process makes a poor substitution, warfare itself can result. Therefore, pacifists often abstain from voting.

Ignorance breeds ignorance. Notice the children at tRump rallies who were brought by their parents.

Maria Amalia “Melina” Mercouri was a famous Greek actress who went on to become a major politician. So it’s not only Americans….

It’s hard to discern facts from opinions. And sometimes you have to consider the source.

As David Letterman said, Vote, because your vote counts as much as somebody that knows what they’re voting about.

Vance wants parents to be able to vote their children’s votes. It wouldn’t work since mother and father often favor different candidates.

I think we should have children moderate the debates. They’d have to employ all the same rules which apply to them in regards to:
-Fibbing
-Hitting (threats of violence)
-Cheating
-Stealing

Serious talk about lowering the US voting age to 16.
