Lynn Johnston went with pawn from the game of chess.

Elizabeth: She manipulated me like a PAWN.

Dawn: — I guess that’s why they call love a “game,” huh, Liz?

However, there were other choices considered, that did not make the cut:

Elizabeth: She manipulated me like a pair of dice.

Dawn: — I guess that’s why they call love a “paradise,” huh, Liz?

Elizabeth: She manipulated me like a deck of cards.

Dawn: — I guess that’s why Candace wanted Anthony to poker. Poke-her, get it, huh, Liz?

Elizabeth: She manipulated me like a pair of tiles.

Dawn: — I guess that’s why they say love is a “scrabble,” huh, Liz?

Elizabeth: She manipulated me like a chit.

Dawn: — I guess that’s why they say love is a “war game,” huh, Liz?

Elizabeth: She manipulated me like a miniature.

Dawn: — I guess that’s why they say love is a “war game,” huh, Liz? Oh wait. I already did that joke.

Elizabeth: She manipulated me like a standee.

Dawn:— Lynn Johnston don’t play no Super Mario Bros

I’m wondering if Liz ever has anything to do with Candace again.

The problem with best friends is when they stop being your best friends but they still know all about you. Real best friends never betray you.

It’s a shame the rules of this game aren’t defined, and never will be!

Now Liz knows to handle her own business. But also, Candace would have been all over him like white on rice anyway. Personally, I have never seen the appeal of Anthony but I guess there really is a kid for every pot.

IF YOU TOOK CARE OF IT YOURSELF YOU WOULDN’T HAVE THIS NEW PROBLEM

Who says love is a game? It’s not true. Besides, she wasn’t in love so it makes no sense to talk about love.

Elizabeth, you’re just figuring that out about Candice NOW????

Dawn is not really sympathetic at all. Liz has no good friends

How did she manipulate Elizabeth like a pawn? You basically use pawns as cannon fodder to drive home an attack against your opponent. If anything, Elizabeth was the opponent and Anthony was the one manipulated. But he still wasn’t used as a pawn. This really isn’t a chess game at all. More like Anthony was a piece in the game Othello, where you can trap your opponent’s pieces and flip them around to your own color.

And most pieces flip back and forth numerous times before the game’s over. Anthony will.

With the right attitude this could have been a WIN-WIN situation.

If she wanted him back, all she has to do is approach Anthony and pretend she knows nothing about the breakup and say Candice was lying.

Sometimes it can be a deadly one.

Liz learned two valuable lessons, she should handle her own issues and not rely on someone else to do it for her and that Candice is not her friend.

“THAT LITTLE RAT!” sounds reasonably accurate…..

A lesson hopefully well learned by Liz who shouldn’t allow herself to be manipulated so easily. When someone volunteers to do something ugly for you, think about the why !!! ;-0
