The good old days, when you’ve actually met your friends.

Wouldn’t analog social media just mean talking (“Please say Hi to me”)? Still ironic considering all the others carrying around phones just to look at them!

I have something llike 1200 FB friends. Some of them I’ve actually met.

Unfortunately, the Star Trek ‘Holodecks’ are too far in Bert’s future … unless this one is set at ‘Non-Interactive’.

These days, your friends are your worst enemies and, your enemies are your worst friends.

Googled “loneliness the internet.” First offering was the .com ad link: “Meet our Counselors. You Deserve to be Happy.”

Can you imagine if they made the TV show “Friends” now? It would just be Ross alone in a room typing for 30 minutes.

Bert gets his social media savvy from the DNC.

In addition to thumbs up I imagine he might sometimes get offered another single raised digit.

Might break the chain if the pup walked dude into a puddle or tree or ‘trail sign’ from an earlier dog.

Yeah, but if he posted a photo of him on that there bench, it might go viral.

Oh my…. he’s looking for love in all his wrong places. Maybe he should go back to a colored scarf hanging from his back pocket.

In social media you actually give them more than just „being there“ for a thumbs-up.

Worthless, shallow people liked you even in the past for just showing your handsomeness or wealth. Or perversely enough: your ruthlessness. And those do that today, still.

is Bert asking for an oil check?

Probably.

I’m not sure that the 4B movement will have much effect in the US. People spend all there time on their phones and never meet IRL.

People-watching has gotten so boring, it’s all the same thing: everyone has their faces buried in devices…

Social ‘Meh’ dia.

I’m actually kinda surprised that none of the dogs are looking at their cell phones.

When it comes to instrumentation, I prefer analog, my watches and the instrument panel in the car, a needle for RPMs and Speed and mechanical gauges for most everything else. Digital displays are boring.

Just ain’t an analog world anymore buddy. Go out and play in the sunshine, it’s good for you ! ;-)

If they’d get their faces out of their … um … phones, they may well give him a thumb’s up. Just say ‘hello’ – it ain’t that hard.

We accept the premise of this comic but is it really true? I don’t actually see it much here when I go out and about. Could be a regional thing.

There could be a yearning, but it gets overwhelmed by laziness…

An art group I used to help were offering free art projects on Saturday afternoons. They offered different projects for different age groups, but soon found that they were drawing a lot of teenagers. Teenagers told us that they liked the social interaction during the projects, and liked getting off of their phones. This went on for a few months…

Then a combination of art group member burnout and emerging Spring weather caused low turnout and eventual cancellation. When Winter weather came the teenagers started asking about the art project sessions again, but nobody in the art group wanted to organize it. Later, during board meetings, the art group wondered what happened to local interest in its programs – but still nobody wanted to organize or staff those programs…

Why doesn’t the dog have at least an ipod. This is cruelty to animals.
