I don’t know why Darryl is reluctant to let Hammie climb the ladder. That kid has been climbing without ladders since he was a toddler. Unless he’s afraid — and not without reason — Hammie will do something stupid while he’s up there

If that’s the case, Darryl, you could just climb down the ladder to get the bulb yourself. It wouldn’t be that much effort.

Dad was outside doing something dangerous on a ladder when Mom wondered aloud how she’d gotten hooked up with a guy like that. I grew up in a funny/haha household.
