I was hoping someone here might have an idea of who that ghost is supposed to be, some character from the past. Looks like I’m back to Thanksgiving Pilgrim though. Hello Miles Standish?
This is getting to be like Crankshaft where the title character is rarely seen. Maybe Hank should rename it “The Hubris of Tobias Gordon”, or “Peanut Lives Large”, or “Rhymin’ Luke and Cami”. It would make more sense at this point.
Big news! With Gil steadfastly refusing to return to work and the Mudlarks doing even worse than usual in his absence, Coach Hernandez is consulting … a pipe-smoking ghost??? Who doesn’t really seem to have any specific football knowledge? More on this important story as it develops.
If the art weren’t so awful, I’d mention the ghost has absolutely no resemblance to Patrick Swayze, though Luke is a close match for the artist’s take on Demi Moore.
Is that Pop Clutch, who Crankshaft killed with his slow driving? He moved over to this strip, looking for someone who does an even worse job than Ed? Actually, my guess is that’s Gil’s mentor who we “met” a while back in a flashback or something. Except how would Luke know of that guy? Maybe it’s someone who coached Luke when he was young. And speaking of young, we’re not getting any younger so get on over to Mopped Up Thorp, now!

Wonder what Luke was smoking… Wonder if this would make better sense if I had some to smoke too.

It’s not Howard Schnellenberger. Coach never wore a hat and had cooler looking pipes.

When will Henry’s “graphic novel” be done? Maybe then we can get a real writer and artist to take back the strip.

P1- Composing fiddle music?
P2- Henry smoking his crack pipe.
P3- Luke’s hair turns black.
P4- Luke shaves, puts on a t-shirt and switches to a black collar shirt. WTF?

What is the story for this art change? It certainly wasn’t about IMPROVING the art style.

P-1:When the Doctor told you to take a physics and work it out, that isn’t what he meant.
P-2: Special guest appearance by Capt. January. Shirley Temple couldn’t make it.
P-3: Cami tries to strangle herself after seeing where this is going.

Stupid Luke relies on a ghost of vapes past. Gil would’ve tapped into Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift to draw up some plays. Hasn’t he learned anything?
