Now that I read these online, I always see the opening panels.

I read them. They set up the comic.

The Wizard goes on to explain newspapers and shrinking comics pages. The King orders some subtle curses.

Collections of comic strips include the first two panels but some newspapers for decades cut them off to save space, so millions of people were surprised by the complete strips.

Maybe written instructions were necessary.

The first two panels are throwaway panels and do not appear in many publications. Bill Watterson complained about this.

We read them. Newspapers often don’t print them.

After midnight is another full day’s rental.

What I don’t understand is what I considered one of my weakest, most shallow comment, namely ‘Jill-O-Lantern’, has reached my highest ‘like’ total this year.

Getting a high ’ like’ total is kind of like a good Scrabble score.
