Last night, my wife decided it was okay to let Brit (our puppy) sleep on the bed. Brit snores. I took my humidifier and sleep mask upstairs to the guest room.
“Oh Lord, I started out the day with good intentions, but then I got out of bed and, as usual, that’s when it all went wrong! So much blood! So much killing! If You didn’t want me to maul and maul and maul, why did You make me a bear with such powerful claws?”
So far, it gets better once I start moving around. I just started physical therapy, and the therapist confirmed what I have suspected, my hips are uneven.
My saying – “A day without a trip to the Walmart less than 8 min northeast of us is a day we went to the one less than 5 minutes to our west or the WM Supermarket 15 min to the northeast of us or the Walmart north of us about 10 min north of us, or the one just over the line into the county to the east of us or the one ALL the way out towards the east end or several of them is a day we had to go to one or more Costcos, BJs, Targets, Home Depots or Lowes – sometimes even a Staples when I need office supplies for work instead or in addition!”
At least I got him down to lunch at Wendys only 3 days a week. (One of the agreements when he quit his job about 15/20 years ago was that “We CANNOT go to Wendys every day for lunch” though for awhile between when he quit and the pandemic hit we did go there every day for lunch – and Saturday night dinner also.) I need time at home to do housework, do work – work, maybe actually check email, etc.
Since the start of Covid it has been better. During the worst of Covid (which lasted a long time here as we live in one of the counties which had more cases than many states or small countries) we started eating home again and, of course, not going out except for necessities – thank goodness. He is inching back, but I think I can keep enough days home for me to get work done. And, no, he will not go out on his own – he gets too lonesome without me.

Actually, I lose it even before that. Rolling over, and it’s ALL over.

Retirement: getting up in the morning with nothing to do, then going to bed at night when you are only half done.

Good vibrations, good excitations, elations, etc. (Oom bop bop) have long been replaced by good intentions and lower sensations.

It starts long before that. Opening my eyes starts that process before I ever rollover to get out of bed!

It’s bad when you wake up and try to get out of both sides of the bed at the same time. :)

Rolling out of bed in the morning is easy, but getting up off the floor is the hard part…
