Interesting punchline. We know in panel 1 and 2 that Michael tries to climb into the bathroom window. Now we find out that in panels 3 and 4, that the landlady sleeps in the bathroom?

Bathtubs must be really comfortable to sleep in if you remember to drain the water.

And then he saw the light—-or not.

Well, at least Michael didn’t fall out of the tree and break his head open. The landlady will do it for him.

Maybe the landlady is in dreamland, but there is a bald man right there who is brandishing a lamp, Michael.

What is that old bald man doing there?

And in about two seconds Micheal, you will be in dreamland as well.

One eviction, coming up!

Michael is going to have a lump on his head so big he will have to wear a turban to class.

Rarely does a comics panel give me as much joy as one showing Michael about to get brained with a heavy lamp.

Yep… told you yesterday this would not end well for Mike.

Too bad this strip was never animated with sound. Imagine if after konking Michael the landlady drops a piano which lands on Weeder.

Weeder then stands up with piano keys for teeth as “Chopsticks” is playing.

Ooops ! ;-)
