Even if they haven’t identified the body yet, that doesn’t mean that they won’t identify it later, especially with this suspicious behavior around it.

Um. So. I read all… and I do mean all… of the comments on yesterday’s strip. I kept looking for someone to make reference to the weird reiteration of the “boobies” bit in the first panel. I mean, many, many silly NYUK NYUK NYUKs over that lame bit of dialog. But look at the “hands” gesture in panel two. Also notice the random imagery of the painting in panel three that suspiciously resembles the Grand Tetons. Where’s all the dopey chatter about that? Where, huh?

And we’re still left hanging on the point of all this. If it doesn’t matter if the body is “retrieved” or not why were they trying to retrieve it? It only draws attention to them – which I assume they should not want. If it matters… How about tossing us a clue why?

When you have a “main plan” that calls for a deceased not being known to the police, do not try to steal the body. Just don’t let the police find it in the first place.

And if, for some reason, you need to dump it, start by transporting it a few hundred miles away so it won’t be your local police trying to identify him.

And even if they had managed to steal the body, this would not have stopped the police investigation into his death. They have records. They have photographs.

I think there’s more to this than just trying conceal the body as evidence. I wonder if perhaps it contains something that they want to retrieve?
