Dropped off a box of cassettes of old radio programs at library. Clerks looked at them and had no idea what they could do with them. An older clerk suggested they dig up a cassette player with speakers and donate all to a senior living facility, as that would be the audience most familiar with the medium. They kinda stared at her for a bit, then their brains kicked in and they remembered what those things were. Decided it was a good idea and went on the hunt. Last I heard, they got a lot of applause when they delivered the combined box.
I just got rid of a bunch of computer parts and connectors. I found a track ball mouse. I showed it to some of my co-workers who are about 1/3 my age and surprisingly some of them recognized what it was. They must have seen one when they were toddlers.
I had enough adaptors to connect an Apple II+ to a Smart TV.

Long term storage was solved by the ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, the Olmecs, etc using stone. Just don’t let colonizers in…..

Rotary phones are selling for $25 and up at antique stores. You can probably ditch those floppy discs, though.

Ever since vinyl made a comeback, now every other media thinks they’ll also have a second coming.

Don’t forget the Zip discs. Those things held 100 Mb and were reliable. Might be hard to find a drive, or a G3 Mac

Smart move. I still have a fully functional Apple-1 computer from the late 70’s.
