what an awful predicament for Ann Eiffel, if she tries to tell publicly to Toni she can’t come at all “without ANY REAL reason”, she could be sued for harassment. And to avoid that, she might have to let all the costumers know that Toni is allowed to visit her guy pretty much all the time, she gains more by allowing Toni to come

I almost forgot that Toni and Brad have matching firefighter tattoos I have a feeling that Toni is stronger, unless Ann has some secret martial arts/kickboxing thing going on it should be one-sided. But aside from that point, when I first glanced over the comic I was thinking Toni was wearing a svelte little black dress, interesting choice in outfits.

Toni Daytona has the capacity to eat Ann Eiffel for lunch and have room left for apple pie. But she also has self-control. Ann Eiffel’s reign as Dictator at WeenieWorld will soon be coming to an end, nonetheless.

I hope this ends soon, that Brad leaves fast food, and goes back to the fire dept.

A week and a half ago, I got home from work at 1am to find that the house two doors down from me was on fire. 911 was called and fire engines from our town and three other towns were brought in to put out this stubborn fire. It just wouldn’t go out, one side of the house seemed to keep catching back on fire. Finally it all worked out, but it just seemed like there needed to be more men and engines there to work on the fire. City police and fire is a lousy place for a city to cut back on. That house is all destroyed except for the bricks. The firemen entered the home and woke the guy up from his sleep (fire must have mostly been in the attic at that time), and the guy simply grabbed his car keys and cell phone and left. No ones seen him since.

Anyway, after seeing all that, I vote for Brad getting back with the fire dept.

Ottodesu’s a longtime poster so he probably knows it’s Toni who has the tattoo – I think he was speculating on what type of ink, and where, Ann would have if she had one. If I had my druthers she’d have a tramp stamp spelling out Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Is it just me or is Toni showing more skin than just about ever. The only time I remember her showing more is when she was Miss January on the firefighters calander. And she does look paticularly yummy today. A surprise since she usually is dressed like a guy. We’re getting set up for something big. This is gonna be a good week.

IMO, I just hope that if forced to choose, Brad doesn’t wuss out and choose the job over Toni. (U gotta stick up for the love of your life.) And if he does do that, I wouldn’t blame Toni if she never spoke to him again. If he chooses Toni, there’s got to be plenty of other fast food places in town where he can work until he gets his FD job back.

Richard… from my read of the comic… Brad hasn’t been dawdling around for hours talking with Toni. In the panels we have seen thus far, the encounters are rather brief, and typically while Brad is continuing to do his sweeping/table cleaning work. As I stated once before, I think that part of Brad’s job" is to be pleasant, interactive, and friendly to the patrons while he is in the dining area… in this case it just happens that Brad knows Toni, which makes that interaction easier. I personally do not think Brad is doing anything wrong, and doing everything right thus far in his job here. A *normal supervisor would (IMHO) have no issues with Brad’s work at this point.

The showdown begins. I am so rooting for Toni… but I fear that the rumble will be intellectual and verbal rather than physical. If Eiffel makes a poor showing, she’ll just crap on Brad all the harder out of sheer spite, so I don’t know how this could possibly end well for him. But I’m open to surprises!

This is a fast food place – Brad works in the public area so it is a very regular thing that friends and relatives come in and have a short chat while the employee works. They don’t exactly drop everything and chat. They mostly continue to move around and work while talking. And those exchanges tend to be quite brief and do not really interfere with the employee’s job. Ann doesn’t want Toni to come in AT ALL. This is a public place and Ann is not in position to exert this kind of authority. If Brad works in a closed office, that is another story. Certainly friends and relatives don’t stop by for a chat. I am a teacher and my friends and family don’t stop by for a chat during my working hours because a school is not a public place – it is restricted environment for only students. So my position with Ann is she stepped out of her authority boundary.

You should check the trial docket of your local small claims court – you might be surprised as to the amount of people who aren’t suing one another. Then check out what liability insurance rates are nowadays for the average business. And if lawsuits aren’t being filed in higher courts, why are tort reform acts in the process of being filed, struck down and otherwise wrangled over in just about every state in the nation?

Of course if Toni isn’t interested in being a diner she can be made to leave, but she had been eating there when Ann saw her talking to Brad and told him she didn’t want to see Toni there again. Ann can’t prevent her from being a patron in the first place by applying some sort of arbitrary and capricious ban just to show how tough she is – that’s sort of the point.

Way too many comments today- but mostly good. I can’t believe a few thought a tat on arm was “tramp stamp”- I’m over 70 and know it is what I saw on a young woman working in a juniors clothing store (where I still shop for grand daughters and actually buy sometimes for myself). I’d never want to make marks on my body- but I have many friends who have ink. Tramp stamp is specific and only shows on young women who dress in a way that exposes them to the top of a butt crack- hence, very aptly named!

OK, substitute “superior court” instead – the same truth holds.

The US has 50% of the world’s population of attorneys – per capita that’s one lawyer for every 265 Americans, and they have to support themselves somehow. Guess how? We’ve become an extremely litigious society, and to claim it’s otherwise, or it’s only “among corporations” is not being realistic . Do you seriously think the courts are only clogged with workman’s comp claims and suits against Big Tobacco? Do you ever wonder why there’s so many Product Liability warning labels on your hair dryer warning you not to use it in the shower? Check out Pearls Before Swine yesterday – hint: Pastis was an attorney before he started drawing the strip.

People sue other individuals all the time, over wills, auto accidents, malpractice, libel, personal injury, child support or whatever. The world is not a fair place, and some people don’t treat others fairly. Sometimes you have to go to court to redress that imbalance.
