Don’t get me started on Kelly’s Heroes. It’s one of my all-time favorites. All them positive waves…

Calvin has to get mad props for the single mindedness it would have too to do this. And for such a small payoff, scaring dad or mom. Easier for a cartoonist to draw than even consider doing as a kid…

Big brother….!

I still argue that the original guy peaking over the wall (between 2 bathroom stall) is Shmoe. He was captioned “Shmoe (various spelling) is watching you”, and kept more than a few of us constipated during the early ’40’s.

i love how in th first frame he studies the landscape as a painter studies a canvis. :-D

Love this one (and all the others!) Calvin obviously belongs in a classroom/school where creativity is encouraged so his artistic ability can soar even more.

did Hobbes put him up to this?

If a kid could really build that, it would be awesome.

The work Calvin had to do to make that hill is to admire. I can’t imagine what would he produce if he had the same level of motivation for helping his parents.

I always wish I was born with a 10th of Calvin’s creativity.

I know he’s just a fictional character but he always seems so lifelike that I can’t help but be a little jealous.

You gotta give the kid an A for ingenuity!

I have seen this one before but it is still excellent, love it.

Chad was originally made out of electrical symbols: the head and nose AC, the fingers resistors, and a + and – for the winking eyes.

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING!

Freshly Squeezed is a sort of re-do of Stein’s “Denver Square” which ran in the Rocky Mountain News for several years (where he was also their #1 editorial cartoonist). He’s kept the characters but changed their situations slightly. Ed Stein (and Drew Litton and Mike Keefe) was my introduction into good cartooning.

That is one creative kid! Love it!

I love Calvin’s snowmen (people or creations).

OMG! This was always one of my favorites.

I always wished Bill Watterson could have done a book of nothing but snowman cartoons.

For the record, I’m 39 (Gen-X), and I recognize the Kilroy reference. However, I’m pretty sure that the 18-25 crowd would not.

It reminds me of Ziggy too.

I alway thought the snow goons were the funniest Calvins.

Was at the WWII Memorial in DC recently. As my wife and I walked around clockwise behind the monument towards the Lincoln Memorial we noitced a staircase going down. And on the wall of the staircase …

This is a good one. Much better than when he got a 5’ ball as one of the snowman’s toes.
