I am pained by the fact that she did not want him to have a crown. I have a business selling customized stuff. I have little non-customized items that I sell for a few dollars, while most of my items sell for $35 or more. Most customers spend around $100 or so. When they say “Oh! I forgot to add that little non-customized item to my order. Can you just charge my card?” I say “Nope! I am throwing that sucker in for free. Heck, maybe even two if I am in a good mood!”

There’s a lot of misinformation out there about so-called frivolous lawsuits – anyone can sue, that doesn’t mean the court will hear you. Some suits, like ones against Denny’s, McDonalds, and schools that can’t enforce a policy to save their lives, are jsutified – and some aren’t, like the CA father who’s suing his son’s school for kicking him out of his AP classes even though he admitted to cheating..Don’t forget a lot of tort reform lobbying that includes circumventing 7th amendment rights and caps on personal injury damages is being funded by corporations who also want to avoid their share of “personal responsibility”. Try suing a health insurance company that denied you coverage that you actually paid for and should have received, with the result that your health is permanently impaired, if you truly want to see avoidance of responsibility in action. .Better to give Ox his order (if he has the means to pay for it) rather than refuse for no good reason and face a well-deserved arbitrary discrimination suit.

“Anna” represents nothing of the kind..There were abusive and harassing bosses under the “old” management, which actually used to reward good work and keep its employees to retirement age. There are abusive and harassing bosses under “new” management, which is vested in keeping you at consultant level so it doesn’t have to vest you in the company, give you any benefits and can kick you to the curb when you reach your 40’s..“New” isn’t always “better” – and Eiffel’s abuse isn’t welcome or productive in any well-run business.

FF stores wouldn’t exist if everyone thought that spending less money for a pack of buns & burgers or dogs at the supermarket was a better deal than spending a little more money for the convenience of having a ready to eat plunked on a tray in front of you.

Sure they would. Fast food places exist because there’s a need for them, and they’ve been around since ancient Greece and Rome. .Regardless of how you think everyone should live their lives, people don’t carry their kitchens with them when they travel, so are often away from home at breakfast, lunch or dinner time. Some people don’t have access to a working kitchen where they live. For others, packing a meal is impractical. Because people also work away from home and have a limited lunch break, they need someplace fast (and cheap) to eat, since their bosses take a dim view of setting their desks on fire to grill a burger. Some are such lousy cooks that they burn water, and some never learned. .And I can guarantee that if all the FF franchises vanished from the earth overnight, the supermarket price of buns and burger meat would triple, so that it wouldn’t be so much of a bargain any more.

Define your terms. If by “social parasites” you mean people who’ve been injured through a company’s negligence and look to the courts for redress, then that’s bullshit. If you’re talking about the woman who snuck her coworker’s severed finger into a bowl of Wendy’s chili and tried to get $$ for pain and suffering, that’s accurate. And there are far more legitimate claims for liability that go nowhere than there are ripoff artists who succeed. .And it cuts both ways – companies can be just as parasitic when it comes to corporate welfare, and I mean that in both senses of the word. Does yours have a “dead peasant” life insurance policy on you so that it, rather than your family, will collect benefits when you die?

Heh – you actually wouldn’t. Typical British manufacture – looked gorgeous, but the engineering was for sh*t. Dad had an XKE and the sports suspension was horribly stiff – you felt every imperfection on the road, it was impossible to keep the front end in alignment, and Dad realized he was going to need a kidney transplant if he kept on driving it. Also, the wire wheels had a tendency to go out of round – and no, I’m not kidding. Why else do you think Harold sent it over the cliff at the end of the film? ;D.

An ex-boyfriend is an A&P/IA aviation mechanic – you should hear what he says about the BAE-146’s electrical. Total nightmare for wiring – basically, it’s the plane that tea-breaks built. .I laughed like hell in I.Q. when the snobby British professor’s (Stephen Fry) MG TF Roadster breaks down at the garage and Tim Robbins (who plays the mechanic), tells him: “You have a Lucas type four generator on a 12-volt system, and you know the British. They’d rather spend time gluing wood on a dashboard than getting the electrical system right.”

I like your comment and think that it is right ON with the exception of a minor, but frequent spelling error. For those few who might not understand:The Peter Principle is a belief that in an organization where promotion is based on achievement, success, and merit, that organization’s members will eventually be promoted beyond their level of ability. The principle is commonly phrased, “employees tend to rise to their level of incompetence.” In more formal parlance, the effect could be stated as: employees tend to be given more authority until they cannot continue to work competently.

What you said is that if everyone realized that buying buns and burgers at the supermarket was a better deal and would forego the convenience aspect, there wouldn’t be a need for FF restaurants. The way I read it is analogous to saying that if everyone just realized that walking everywhere was cheaper, we wouldn’t need to buy gas and there’d be no need for the auto industry. Until we’re willing to wear a portable kitchen so we can cook a burger in the middle of Aisle 6, or we’re issued wheels instead of legs, we’ll still need both.

It’s not just “convenience” – the way you presented it made it sound like people are either spendthrifts or too lazy to rustle up their own food, and that’s not always the case. People travel all the time and usually can’t cook in the back of the car or in their motel room – it’s not so much “convenient” as much as it’s “necessary”. .FF franchises, BTW, are primarily clustered around schools, colleges and universities. Then comes bus and train stations, hotels, retail areas/shopping malls, hospitals and office parks/business districts.

i suspect any business sense ann has has been overwhelmed by her intense dislike of and equally intense attraction to tj. if all she cared about was enhancing her management profile, she’d let him rake in the bucks without paying much attention. however she can’t manipulate him, bully him and definitely can’t get him to like her which infuriates her to no end. the reason tj gets to her so much is because he can. this is going to get interesting.
