I hate ledger lines, and I can barely read music. Now I have to solve a puzzle, so to speak.

Today’s music: “Higher and Higher.”

Does anyone recognize the tune? I played it and it still isn’t familiar.

That’s one way to reach the high notes, I suppose.

In Finland we have this greeting of tenors: “hoosi anna”, which translates either “hosanna” or “give me your H”. We use the German naming of notes. B sounds boring.

Horace must have joined Trans Siberian Orchestra. (If you’ve never been to a TSO show, there are several points where the performers go up rather high on small elevated platforms. No railings, but they get connected to a safety line before the platform rises.)

Love it! I used to say I’d need to stand on a chair to hit those high notes, but Horace has a much better idea. Thanks for a good laugh.
