Ouch

Well, THAT’s topical… though she seems to have actually understood what exponential curves really are, unlike about 40% of the US population.

“If you got the curves, I got the angles.”

Yup.

For someone who needs help with simple arithmetic, that seems rather advanced for her.

But all the gals on this strip don’t have any curves to them, exponential or otherwise.

LOL. This is one reason I like this comic strip. I used to put at least one of these at the end of my tests when I was teaching. They were always accurate and on topic.

Wait until you get a 3 body problem in calculus.

Took me a second to truly get the gag…guess that tells all of you a lot about my nonexistent math skills, doesn’t it? :P

My high school and college math classes have been absolutely useless to my everyday life. Luckily, I only spent hundreds of hours getting perfect grades in each of them and paying handsomely for the privilege.

I’m a mostly right-brained liberal arts type. However, when I took statistics, I actually enjoyed it. Then, I got to probability, and that was my chapter 5. My math-oriented, left-brained husband read that chapter of my textbook and got it immediately. I just had to remind myself that I had other types of skills.

That’s my favorite Dante Alighieri quotation, the sign over the gate to hell. I put it on my door at work when I get too busy: “lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch’intrate”.

Exponential curves are fake math. Data has a liberal bias. Everybody knows that.

Is this only funny for people who know what exponential curves are?

What is the Joke?

Having read many, many, many textbooks in technical subjects – I can completely relate.

That’s EVERY math lesson.
