By the time I got to ‘Attention’, I forgot about the first sign that said ‘Danger’! How would I know beforehand that the signs, if read in order, are supposed to spell out a message?

There was a similar gag to this in a Nancy Classic reprinted this past week. Sluggo walked past two signs which warned “Be Careful” before he fell down a manhole while still reading the second “Be Careful” sign. Down the manhole was another notice which read, “Now will you be careful?”

A reader commented “Entrapment!”

The time and funds for putting up signs would have been better spent on a OSHA approved fence.

Nice try, Garfield. But dogs are smarter than that.

Either that’s a trap or someone didn’t put enough thought into this

Odie read the signs but the danger wasn’t specified early.

How much does it cost and where is this Attention fellow when he’s not at home?

I guess it pays to be able to read fast. Odie read all the other signs while facing forward. The last, long word sign was read facing backward.

I hope Odie’s okay.

Annnd some ppl are like that

In High school had a teacher that did the same kind of thing. First day she handed out a test to see where the class level was and told us to read the whole thing first. It was a twenty line test. Line twenty said only write you name at the top of the page. Most of the people in class flunked that test.
