Gil, you failed them. You didn’t do your best. You hung around unshaven in your filthy bathrobe for weeks and mumbling to yourself. You failed them long before you shaved and showed up for one important game.

But, it really doesn’t matter. They had a better team and even if you’d been doing your job the Milford team would have gotten their butts kicked.

Why don’t you go back to the unshaven mess you were and keep feeling sorry for yourself.

You would think Beth would respond with something like, “You think you have it bad? Coach Nonads and Marty were smashed at the bar and none of them hit on me. Instead I’m here with a loser like you.”

You set yourself up by welcoming failure. Tighten it up with a close Burma shave, slap on some Aqua Velva, Grecian Formula and finally Brylcreem. Slap that wench on the cheeks and play the role of Gilfather.

Serious question: I’ve been a reader of GT for a long time, but am a relative newcomer to the Snarkosphere (never felt the need to comment until Henry came along and trashed the strip). Did previous writers (Berrill, Jenkins, Rubin, et al) troll the comments the way he does?

I think the doofus dropping the ball short of the goal line had more to do with the loss than Gil, but it wouldn’t be a day in Milford if the writing made any sense.

Also, I’m hoping they replace the “artist” with a drunk fingerpainting kindergartener soon.
