Second college reference in the last month or so. Are we finally seeing Luann’s Senior Year? Are we seeing the wind up of Luann in general. You aren’t going to retire on us are you Mr. Evans?

So, Luann mau actually make it to college? That would be cool. A whole new source of angst for her young adult life

Hmmm….if Luann moves on to college, what happens to all the high school friends? Delta, Gunther, Tiffany and the rest? Do they go to college too? Or do they get written out?

Have I totally forgotten the story line where Brad got that tattoo on his right arm?

If Luann is turning 18, we might ratchet up the romances a bit-like other family comic strips – For Better or For Worse, Chickweed, Doonesbury.

I hope that Mr. Evans does let Luann and the gang move on into college—either all at the same community college, or maybe some there and others at a Pittsville branch of State U.

I like the banter in today’s strip. You can tell they have matured and the playful digs show they actually do care about each other.

So… is Luann visiting Brad &TJ, or is Brad back home now? What’s going on that Luann is visiting big bro while he’s getting dressed?

Um, I’m not always the very most observant, but when did Brad get the tat? Is that a firemen tradition (I assume)? It looks like a couple of firemen’s axes and a helmet. But when did I miss that (or did I just forget – old age)?

For those of you contemplating getting a tattoo, answer to yourself these two questions: `1. Suppose I could have acquired a tattoo when I was five or six – what would I have had engraved on me, Barney the Purple Dinosaur or some such?`2. Am I really going to want this thing 20 years from now?`To put it bluntly, show me someone with a tattoo (especially if it’s prominent) and I’ll show you someone with problems concerning long-term planning.

Brad is a firefighter, and he did build himself up to get that job. I wouldn’t doubt that he still works out to stay in shape.+And he certainly doesn’t look dirty.

i agree, Dave (re: more time talking about Quill leaving than actually having him leave). I wish the actual romance could have gotten the time spent on discussing Quill’s departure.

Why shouldn’t Brad look strong. He’s a firefighter now; he has to keep in shape.

It’s called an A-shirt, compared and contrasted to a T-shirt.And Clark Gable’s appearance in “It Happened One Night” put an end to nightshirts because he wore pajamas (or pyjamas); when this manly/macho/smoothguy/etcetera actor appeared in pjs, men got rid of their nighshirts, which were somewhat comparable to nightgowns.

This is a nice interplay. Not too deep, not too shallow, not lying to protect the other’s feelings but exagerating the problem lightly to deal with it.

I would expect Brad to look a lot less ‘schlumphy’ than he did thru much of the series. You put on some muscle as a firefighter, keeping your conditioning up.Let the tat be a mystery, at least for now. And, a very nice exchange between Brad and Luann, showing some real maturity in gently ribbing each other. Being an ‘only’, I know from friends how long it can take to really appreciate a sibling .. some don’t, though! I just have a whole bunch of play brothers and sisters..

Didn’t Toni get a tattoo and then Brad got one to match? It would be nice to see the kids move on to college. I also want to know if TJ quit Weenie World after Ann double-crossed him – as we all knew she would. Or Ann needs to get canned so TJ can run the place!
